Ingredients:
- 2-3 pieces beancurd
- 3 oz ground beef
- 2 cloves minced garlic
Sauce
Mix:
- 2 tsp Toban Djan
- 1 tsp fermented bean paste
- 1/4 tsp anise powder
- 1/2 hot chili oil
SauceThickener:
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp corn starch
- 1 tbsp water
Procedure:
- Season beef with 1/2 tsp
each of salt and sugar, 2/3 tsp of corn starch and a dash
of oil for 1/2 hour, half-cook it in hot oil for few
seconds. Strain and set aside.
- Fry garlic in the same
pan, add sauce mix, bean curd and beef, keep stirring.
Add also sauce thickener and a dash of sesame oil.
- Remove when sauce
thickens. Sprinkle scallions on top just before serving.
